Everyone Drives Manuals Here!

Sunday, June 19, 2005

On Thursday I looked into renting a car to drive from Barcelona to San Sebastian for the weekend. The trip is approximately 600 kilometers (373 miles) and would have been a lot of fun. However, it turns out that the only car rental company which rents out automatic transmission vehicles is Hertz and the only models with automatics are the higher end expensive ones. I had no idea that manual transmission vehicles were so common in Spain and I definitely need to learn how to drive a stick. I never really had the opportunity to learn how to drive anything but an automatic as that is all my family has ever owned.

Since I was “stuck” in Barcelona this weekend, I took the time to do a little work on the computer and walk around a take pictures a bit. There are only a few weeks remaining in this semester and I definitely need to start working on my final projects and paper.
